Spend a few days enjoying the famous Route 62 hospitality on our 150ha farm with the majestic Riviersonderend and Langeberg mountains unfolding as far as you can see. At night the sky is filled with millions of stars - there is no air or light pollution. A baby pool and fountain caters for toddlers. A stone river runs into a larger pool which, in turn, overflows into a dam. There are 3 dams on the farm for enjoyment by all. Guests are encouraged to hike on the farm and enjoy the simple pleasures of the veld and fynbos, abundant birdlife, small wild animals, fishing in our dams and of course the calm and silence that are offered by being one with nature. Agterkliphoogte Guest Farm offers two Victorian style guest cottages. In years gone by these cottages were originally farm workers houses which has now been revamped with French doors - each bedroom leading onto a large verandah. Inside both cottages you will find a huge indoor fireplace - perfect for cold winters - and on the verandah is another fireplace from where you can enjoy the picture perfect countryside. Both cottages has views of the dams as well as the pool and gardens. At Agterkliphoogte you will not find alarm clocks, telephones, televisions or radios. Agterkliphoogte is the place to just “get away from it all”. To make “rural life” a bit easier, the cottages are equipped with a fridge, microwave, toaster, tea/coffee perculator, electric frying pan, heaters and hot showers. Comfortable beds with winter / summer linen and towels are provided. Agterkliphoogte Guest Farm is situated close to McGregor and Robertson making our accommodation ideally situated for annual events such as the Wacky Wine Weekend and the Wine on the River Festival held in Robertson.
