At the Lodge you will find pristine Bushveld, lush vegetation and a 5ha dam that provides a haven for twenty game species and more than 217 bird species.It is our aim at Buffelsdrift to bring the highest quality of service to our guests and it is to this end that we try to anticipate their every need.   Buffelsdrift Game Lodge is situated 6.5km outside Oudtshoorn, en route to the famous Cango Caves of South Africa. This Game Lodge is 30 minutes’ drive from the Swartberg Mountain Reserve which in May 2004, became part of the 6th South African World Heritage Site offering a wealth of endemic plant species.   The Lodge offers understated elegance, with mountains as a backdrop and a magnificent waterhole on your doorstep, it’s the closest you will get to the wild of the Klein Karoo. Just off the famous Route 62, the Lodge offers you an escape to something spectacular. Experience an array of wildlife including Elephants, Rhino, Cape Buffalo, Giraffe, Hippo and many more. At Buffelsdrift you can experience privacy in one of our 25 free standing, air-conditioned luxury tents which are all simply and stylishly decorated. A ‘residents only’ swimming pool is conveniently located nearby the tents. To avoid disturbing the wildlife, no swimming is allowed in the waterhole at the Lodge.    At Buffelsdrift you get the opportunity to spend some quality time with the gentle giants of the bush – the Elephants. Buffelsdrift have 3 African Elephants that have been raised at the Lodge. With the Elephant feeding and walking experience, you get the opportunity to interact with them, feed them and even sit on one of their knees – if you like! Should you wish to do so you can choose to take in some of the natural beauty of the Lodge with one of the Elephants by your side on an early morning or late afternoon walk. At Buffelsdrift you may also experience a Safari on horseback accompanied by a trained guide.    Buffelsdrift is also ideal for your South African Bush Wedding. Perched on top of the waterhole at Buffelsdrift, our intimate little Bush Wedding Chapel is an idyllic setting to exchange your vows in. Up to 120 guests can be seated on the wooden deck during the ceremony. For the reception, our Restaurant can host up to 120 guests, depending on your table arrangement. At Buffelsdrift there are 2 x bush wedding packages to choose from.    A. Private Wedding Package   Book the entire Lodge exclusively for you and your guests. This South African Bush Wedding package includes use of the Chapel, Reception Venue, 24 luxury tents and a complimentary Honeymoon Suite. The bride will also have her own room to get ready in before the wedding. Guests sleeping over are treated to a hearty Karoo breakfast and Bush Safari in the morning.   B. Bush Wedding Package   For a smaller South African Bush Wedding, the ceremony can take place under thorn tree bushes with some of our resident elephants as witnesses. This package includes the use of the Conference room for the reception and a complimentary Honeymoon Suite with Breakfast and a Bush Safari for the newlyweds. Guests can pre-book their own accommodation at the Lodge nea.   The “Look Out” lounge at Buffelsdrift is situated next to reception with a large stone fireplace in the middle and overlooks a 5ha dam with the Swartberg Mountain Range in the distance. On arrival relax with a welcome drink while completing the registration card. We also offer a modern Conference facility. Our Conference Venue with all the latest AV technology and fully air-conditioned, can accommodate up to 100 delegates in Cinema style. The Conference Venue is situated overlooking a natural waterhole. Teambuilding programmes can be arranged.   The Restaurant at the Lodge also offers you an A La Carte and Buffet Restaurant, specializing in local cuisine and it is fully air-conditioned for those typical hot days of the Klein Karoo. The Restaurant has a lovely stone fireplace for chilly winter nights and offers magnificent views of the Swartberg Mountains in the distance. One can also sit on the deck overlooking the dam and watch the hippos playing below.
